Yes, I Decorated For Christmas. Yes, I’m Jewish.

Attempt # 3 at being spirited was made today at the expense of my Jewish heritage.

I helped pick out Christmas decorations and put them up on TDOW’s (tall drink of water’s) mantle. While shopping I was giddy. Happy. Unusually into it. Feeling the Christmas spirit…

Sorry mom and dad. And Grandparents. I hope I still get a Hanukkah card.

Throughout my Christmas shopping experience, the yawns began rolling in. Parts of the old unspirited me shone through like a stain on a gray shirt. But then a sparkly Christmas ornament would bring me back. A creative holiday marketing ad would suck me in. I was back and fourth in and out of spirited consciousness all day.

Jewish or not, twinkle lights always win me over. And the thought of having my own stocking with little trinkets in it made me melt–my favorite gifts to give are LITTLE ( lots of little things. More is better, right?) so naturally, an object that only fits small items is right up my alley.

Lets see what happened:

Twinkle lights: Appreciated. Stocking: Simple and cute. Inside of stockings: Nothing. But salivating at the thought of all the different chocolates that may end up in there.

I’m almost embarrassed that I’m excited about this. But the arrangement literally makes me giggle like a little girl.

Yes. This is a lit up present and snowman. Oh and the snowman glows with different colors. Jealous? Unfortunately, my blackberry can’t capture the CRAZY colors dancing. Yes, crazy.

I think I’m getting somewhere. This path to be spirited just might be working.
